Offshore drilling with hydraulic dredging pumps
Offshore dredging often involves the need to pump dense mixtures from high depths. A particularly arduous task because salinity combined with depth is a huge technical challenge for operations.
Problem
An important offshore drilling company was looking for special equipment capable of pumping a dense mixture deposited at a depth of 140 m.
Solution
We have supplied special dredging equipment consisting of a HY85/160 hydraulic pump, four EXHY20 hydraulic cutters and a HY50 hydraulic pump. We helped the customer to configure the system: first with a dry test of all the machines, then with a test in water. The system has proved to be absolutely suitable for working in sea water (average salinity 30 g/l) and pumping an abrasive mixture (average density 1.35 t/m³).
