DRH in oil refinery plant
Dragflow was contacted for a dredging operation to be carried out at the waste collection basins of the oil refining process.
Problem
Two main critical points of this work: the material to be removed from the collection basins was very heavy; the bitumen present in the mixture tends to attack the pump seals making it impossible to operate with traditional pumps; need to dredge up to 20 m deep.
Solution
We have supplied DRH400 dredges that can work without problems at a depth of 20 m, easy to install and move during the months of plant downtime. The dredgers are equipped with HY400 hydraulic pumps with a sealing system designed specifically for the project in order to extend the useful life of the pumping system.
